1. Clothing 

Start with the essentials – think about what you will wear! While you might not want to bring any extra layers into those beautiful photos, having a jacket or a sweater on hand can be a lifesaver, especially if it gets chilly. 

Some couples avoid extra clothing because they believe it will make the photo session more difficult, and they do not see it as convenient. However, you can always put it on between shots or before and after the ceremony. It does not mean you will have it in your shots. Do not forget that comfort is key, so you need to make sure you have everything to achieve being comfortable during your big day

2. Snacks, Snacks, Snacks!

Wedding days can be super busy, and it is easy to forget to eat. You may try to stay fit for the big day and all that, but your elopement is not the day when you want to skip food. We are not saying you have to go for a big meal an hour before the elopement, but some snacks in your elopement packing list will surely come in handy.

So, make sure you pack some tasty snacks or your favorite protein bars. Keeping your energy up throughout the day is essential, so do not skip this step!

3. Hydration is Key

If you are eloping in Colorado, remember that the dry air can be deceptive. You might not notice how much fluid you are losing, so bring plenty of water to stay hydrated. Trust us, you will thank yourself later!

4. Dress Essentials  

When it comes to your outfit and look, it is a good idea to have some dress tape, pins, and safety pins on hand. These can be lifesavers if anything goes wrong with your outfit. Namely, you may not need them at all, but a little prep goes a long way!

5. Hair and Makeup Must-Haves 

Do not forget to include hairspray, a mirror, and any other beauty essentials you might need in your elopement packing list. You want to look your best, right? So, you need to be prepared to make some corrections or freshen up in between shoots. 

Even if you choose a professional stylist to take care of your look, having some must-haves at hand will be convenient. This is especially important if you are having your elopement outdoors. The weather can be unpredictable, and the elements can affect your look, meaning it is better to be prepared! 

6. Extra Shoes

If your elopement is outside, consider bringing a pair of closed-toed shoes or hiking boots. If the terrain is muddy or icy, these will be a much better option than your fancy shoes. You can always switch into something nicer for the actual ceremony and your bridal photoshoot! 

However, this is also a good idea even if your elopement is not in the open air. Sometimes, your bridal shoes might not be as comfy as you expect them to be, so having an extra pair will save you from a night of discomfort!

7. Fun Props

Want to add a little fun and excitement to your photographs? Bring along some fun props like a “we eloped” sign, no-mess confetti balls, or bubbles. They can make for some really cute and memorable shots! 

8. First Aid Kit 

It is always smart to be prepared, so consider a small aid kit an elopement essential. You never know when you might need a Band-Aid! We like our couples to be ready for anything, so we suggest taking something small in case of an emergency. 

You will probably not need it, but since you already have a bag for your things, this is just something you can toss inside it.  

9. Cell Phone Charger  

Your phone will likely be buzzing with messages and calls on your big day. Bring a portable charger to keep your phone powered up for all those special moments and photos you will want to capture. 

You will have a professional photographer to capture your big moments, but there will still be some points of your elopement you would like to capture yourself. 

10. Marriage License and Rings  

Here are the two most important things you absolutely cannot forget in your elopement packing list - your marriage license and your rings! Make sure these are safe and secure, as you will need them for the ceremony.
